soemthings weird about the male characters in this game
Maybe thats because they have no body hairs ? Or are all the same weight and height ? and their faces...

They look like weird clones tbh

i find it strange that Aloy and other women characters don't have any body hair either. but i think it's because no-hair = rated teen?

In-universe, they could still be grooming ya know. Their social structure may be post tribal but not necessarily their tech. Grooming standards also existed in older societies. And to top it off, the game does have vellus hair that shows when you zoom in a lo, so that's nice for realism.

true, but i wonder why grooming didn't evolve in other ways except to shave all body hair to vellus level. i don't have a problem with it, but i do notice that a lot of games have this no-hair body aesthetic in their characters, especially in their women characters.

but, whatever. Horizon Forbidden West is a fantastic game. im loving it so far.

Varying heights make cutscenes a tad difficult. Erend and Varl have very different body types.
To me, I've noticed 3 male and two female body types. The three male types are muscular, thin, and tubby. The sky king whose name I forgot was muscular. most males tend to be very thing. There are occasional obese males such as the foreman guy.
Women, such as the boomer sisters, seem more likely to carry extra weight. I've yet to see women with defined muscle. Even Aloy seems to have relatively little muscle, even for a woman.

Another observation is the Tenakh do resemble Aztecs and other Native north and south Americans. Notice in old photographs how the natives never had beards, but did not suffer from baldness either.

Presumably, the characters in this game are Modern day Americans who descended from the American Disaspora that consisted largely of immigrants. I live in the southwest, where there is a large percentage of hispanic and native population. Black and asian are virtually non-existent. However, a place like New York or Los Angeles would be a different story.

Did you skip the main story points?
Every living thing died and was dead for a thousand years.
Machines created new life "humans" from not the most diverse set of DNA and raised them Inside or simply killed them off until one day it was liveable outside, and a flock of teens got sent out to populate the world (america).

I'd just like to point out that I don't think there were any previous generations of humans that were killed off since they would only be started to grow when the biosphere was stable enough and they had already been through multiple animal phases. So it was the biosphere that was reset and recreated a few times but before they got to the human restoration part...which didn't work out perfectly due to the lack of Apollo.

But yes, the diversity of DNA would've definitely been varied across the planet, with some place like the US having a bit more than others...mostly because most DNA sourced would be local to prevent the machines from destroying anything in transit or tracking to their vaults.
