Sudden constant crashes to desktop
Never had a single crash until reaching the end of the base game's story. Now the game crashes within 30 minutes.

I have verified the game files, my GPU and CPU are below 65 C and I have plenty of VRAM and RAM to spare. I got the latest drivers and windows updates. It doesn't matter if I use fullscreen, exclusive-fullscreen or windowed.

Makes no sense to me.

Anyone else experience this?

Are you using NVIDIA GPU by any chance? I had this problem towards the last fight with Erik one of the Zeniths. Kept crashing as soon as the battle began even after updating to latest drivers (made it worse, didn't finish shader compilation before crashing)

What worked for me was turning off DLSS Frame Generation which I had on for majority of the game without issues.

The other thing to try is maybe turn off the NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency as well.

Once my Frame Generation was disabled I was able to continue without issues.

Good luck!

After last patch, my PC keeps overheating somehow. While before I could play for hours in a row, now I am lucky with 2 maybe three hours before my PC just gives up. I did drop the quality of graphics, but it is the CPU as it seems now. It peaks to near 100 degrees after a while, mostly near far west (on the line of Cauldron Kappa) my PC starts to heat up. No Idea what to change in the settings to stop this

Using a RX 7800 XT and I am not using any "special" features from AMD, apart from FSR of course,

Yes, it also seems to have happened after last patch for me.

Crashing to desktop or the entire computer? The latter is a very common problem.

Only to desktop, sometimes a Sony message shows other times the game just closes.

For me the whole system goes down, have to reboot PC, wait for a while to let it cool down. Just now it did happen again during the final part of the game. I decided to finish the story instead of grinding for upgrades. Guess I can not even finish the story

Other demanding games never gave me this issue, it is only this game

The game made it 8 or so hours without issue. Now I can't make it more than 20-30 minutes. Nothing to go off, no error, nothing in the event viewer at the time of the crash.

Hard to know where to go when there is no error and not sure how to let Sony or whoever know their game might be messed up.

- All is updated
- Reinstalled game
- Disabled XMP
- Set 3D to 10GB
- Disabled Framegen and DLSS
- More suggested fixs I cannot recall

When the game runs its butter smooth. All other games run fine.

my crashes started when i upgraded my pc, had a 11600k no crashes, upgraded to 7600x then all the problems started but only in this game, the game is made for AMD platform, this just stupid.

Try disabling the aggressive ram settings in the BIOS (Intel XMP or AMD AXP).

I've tried tons of possible fixes and disabling AMD AXP was the one change that actual fixed the crashes. Now the game is rock solid. After that one change, I was able to revert all the other janky modifications and turn the graphics settings back to full pretty.

No other game or app has any problem with AXP enabled, but ... oh well.

It’s my second play-through of this game since about 4 months ago. Had no issues then. Now it crashes randomly. CPU gets up to about 82 C.

I’ve tried everything under the sun.

Verify game integrity
DDU
Run as Admin
Increase my virtual memory
Run in Compatibility Windows 8
No DLSS, FG, Reflex
No OC
Etc.

Every time I get the error message with no description but can send error report.

I’m at a loss.

SSD 990 Pro
32GB memory (6000cls)
