Is it me or the last UPDATE made everything messed up ?

The game now takes 1 whole minute to load from the main menu
The map doesn't even show up in the menu it's all black
The game resolution is low

Map is exactly the same as it always been
The game resolution is the exact same it was before patch (4K)

not gonna click on links but it's possible you just have a corrupted installation, did you verify data

Looks like the shaders are recompiling. Go into General Settings and change Stand By Screen Mode to immediate. That seemed to solve this for me. Turn off Nvidia Reflex low latency in Display settings. That either fixed it or it sorted itself out. Who knows, computers be weird.

Get steam to verify all the game files, and then delete your directX shader cache before you start the game.

For nvidia with drivers from this year you can copy and paste this into the file explorer address bar to open the folder : %AppData%\..\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache

Files currently in use won't allow you to delete them but with the game closed you would be able to clear anything that could be a problem.

My current config is 6800xt + 5600x

Deleted all the shader cache, checked files via steam and launched again the game...

Same ♥♥♥♥.... shader are always loading , map loading endless...

I don't understand. I played this game 2 days from day one , everything was fine. I was amazed by nixxes work. I paused to play Prince of Persia The Lost crown.

Then Today i launched Forbidden West: downloads automatically update patch
And all is broken suddenly

I'm sick of pc gaming since 2023 , games are broken. You always need to wait for endless patches for month to play the finally full patched versions
