100% CPU usage in "Bleeding Mark"
During "The Deluge" quest my CPU gets 100% usage and a really high temperature... Changing the settings to the minimum does not reduce usage. Anyone in the same situation?

Specs:
Asus Z790 Hero
i9 13900K
RTX 3090
32 Gb RAM 5600 MHz

No overclock as far as I know :(

No... I've played almost 80 hours and it has only happened to me in this place

Try turning off Nvidia reflex if u have that on , for me it completely tanks performance and I get lots of judder ,

It happens in other areas too and can result in crashing. And don't listen to anyone telling you that it's the user or your PC at fault, it's 100% a game issue.

The only times my PC hits a spike are when I've had Aloy do something that changes the nearby environment where Aloy will return soon, and it lasts about 3-5 seconds without any performance drop. My guess is that it's working fast dumping all the old stuff and loading all the new stuff such as (The Deluge spoiler)removing most of the water from the mudslide area.

Systems with latent stability issues will trip up on such stress even when most other games work fine while stable systems won't have any issues. Overclocking destabilizes systems. GameReady drivers, while supposedly faster, are more sensitive when the system already is hitting its stability limit.

i9 13900k (Noctua N-HD 15)
rtx 4090

If it happened to you only once, i wouldnt put much thought in it.

As for the Moment, my CPU usage is going from 7% up to 22%.

But i noticed that my CPU Temps go from 65° up to 92° in Cutscenes.
Temps during normal open World Gameplay stay between 60° and 75° 99% of the time. Depending on Location and Daytime. Which is the average CPU Temp i have in most demanding Games.

This temp thing I have now in Cauldron Kappa, every time I boot the game to go fight the last machine, my PC just turns off after a few minutes. It is a long hard fight with lots of water and a terrible platform were Aloy gets stuck on each little raise. Sliding is near impossible, dodging is near impossible, without getting stuck. But my PC turning off makes it even worse. I see the temp rise to near 100, now that I am near the ending of the game and 150 hours in, and was going to do the quests still open. Seems I have to wait for an update of the game

Exactly the problem with my 10850k.
65% -> 98%
55° -> 70°
110fps -> 85fps

Hi! I've disabled in my BIOS the "Intel Turbo Boost" and another "Turbo mode" (ASUS motherboard) and no more ultra usage and high temps O.o

My CPU now runs at a max 3 GHz (instead of 5 GHz), and not impact in performance at all... Playing at 50ºC

You can leave Intel Turbo Mode on. But disable Asus Ai overclock (or put Enforce all limits). This will make your Intel CPU run according to Intel Specs. All modern mobos overclock out of the box.

I just experienced the same last night, on 12900K. It wasn't 100%, but it was damn close and my CPU temps went into 90+, which never happens in games. Playing at 3440x1440, maxed out on 4090FE.

I think the game still compiles shaders in the background that's why cpu usage is high in some areas
Viper Apr 7, 2024 @ 8:06am
I don't get why people complain about the CPU being used or think its some kind of issue. 100% is within its normal operating parameters.
