PSA: How to enable and use Weapon Quick Swap

What is Weapon Quick Swap? Weapon Quick Swap is a feature that lets you directly switch between two weapon/ammo combos with the touch of a button / key. It works on both controller and keyboard. By default, Weapon Quick Swap is DISABLED.

Why do I want to use Weapon Quick Swap? In battle, opening the Weapon Wheel is a pain. And the keyboard number keys are very clunky to use because they don't properly remember the last-selected ammo but instead often require that you hit the number key multiple times to cycle to the ammo you want.

How do I enable Weapon Quick Swap? For both controller and keyboard, Weapon Quick Swap is enabled thru the Weapon Quick Swap option in the Gamepad section of the settings. (Yes, even for keyboard, the option is under Gamepad.) The option shows the controller and keyboard keys (keyboard is default F to swap and C to toggle lock of weapon/ammo).

How do I use Weapon Quick Swap? Once enabled, use the Weapon Wheel to first select one weapon/ammo, and then select a second weapon/ammo. Now when you hit the swap key, it will toggle between those two weapon/ammo combinations.

What and why is the weapon/ammo lock function? You can lock a single weapon/ammo combinations by holding the Weapon Wheel open, selecting the desired weapon/ammo, and while the Weapon Wheel is open, pressing the button/key to toggle the lock. The lock status is shown by a dot next to the weapon/ammo. When a lock is present, if that weapon/ammo is not the current one, the swap key will always swap to that locked one, and if that weapon/ammo is the current one, the swap key will always swap to the previously-used weapon/ammo. You can thus lock your favorite weapon/ammo so it is always easy to switch to that.
