Cool trick: Your glider can catch updrafts and gain lift when flying close to whirlwinds (the little tornados in the desert)
You can get lift by flying into updrafts very close to and even right into the whirlwinds that sometimes form in the desert. I discovered this by accident but it's pretty fun. Not sure if it's useful for anything but just fun to mess around with.

Yeah, there's optional gameplay in Burning Shores which requires this.

Great fun, you can soar pretty high if you follow the whirlwind :-)

Last night, I discovered that the Ram quality on mounts lets the player create roadkill (of both critters and machines). Made non-fast travelling more fun than it shoulda done.
I guess thats one way of doing the chievement to glide 60 seconths uninterrupted :p

That one is super easy -- just fly 200 meters above any marked objective, jump off your mount and start gliding. Since you're descending at 3 meters per second, you will reach 60 seconds before you land.
