All game worlds have rules, and if you dont want to follow them feel free to play something else. It's well within your rights.
At the end of the day I hate it when open world have a million icons on the map to expore. I love games like GTA that opens up slowly and doesnt try to overwhelm you with chores and busy work. Some people like it. You cant please everyone.
Games takes ~30 hours to complete doing the story in Normal+ mode.
Mine is just one opinion, yes. And the only opinion i care about.
I dont want all from the start, but not a tool on the far side of the west map while i already have to use it in the torturial area.
And your statement with 3 complaining and 10´s of thousands playing? What is wrong with you?
Technically no. You could find the "you can't go here until you get this tool" game mechanic in some text adventures. However, Zelda is a popular franchise that people are aware of. Regardless, this type of game mechanic is very old.
Another popular example by Nintendo is Pokemon, where certain areas become accessible when your pokemon learn surf, fly, or cut.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with not liking it in a modern game. My main issue is when I do get the fire spear, glider, etc. I oftentimes forget all the areas I couldn\'t access before.
It's extra aggravating because a lot of them just open to a room with 2 chests that have sellables in them, in a game where I never ran low on shards ever.
