can't find specific canister burrower

I've fast traveled literally a hundred times to multiple canister burrower sites to only be met with disappointment. the specific canister burrower that i am looking for is the basic purgewater canister burrower. I have the scan for all the apex canister burrowers - and the apex purgewater canister one spawns more often than the rest - I also have all the others scanned. its just that one and its really starting to feel like the game will never spawn one for me to scan.

If I wasn't feeling the grind before, i'm definitely feeling it now.

I think this particulair one are coming at aparticulair set of time they come up briefly from under the ground and it is kinda grindy :}

okay so I reset the location 50 more times (I know this is exact because i went through a full stack of fast travel kits) by continuously fast traveling back to the nearest shelter and flew up to the canister burrower location north-west of arrowhand and killed all the burrowers on site as soon as i finished scanning. each time i went back i was faced with a mixed bag of the canister burrowers but the one i needed was never there throughout those 50 times i did the reset (even though i was able to get a variation of the canister burrowers) I still wasn't able to get the basic purgewater canister burrower.

throughout the times I did this - only the apex variant of the purgewater canister burrower spawned which leaves me with nothing. also apex variants have a greater chance at night to spawn not sure if this is what you were referring, I did encounter them throughout the day but it was a lesser chance. the time spent in game was from morning until mid day the next day. which leads me to believe the normal variant of the purgewater canister variant to be an Ultra Rare (at least in my experience).

My final note - the burrower is officially now my most killed machine in the game, at a whopping 344 kills according to my statistics

I have a process now where I would either make or purchase a full stack of fast travel kits, travel to the shelter closest to the canister burrower sites, fly to said sites and scan each of the canister burrowers while flying. I will then (after scanning) jump off my mount, kill all the machines on the site, and then fast travel to another shelter close to another canister burrower site and repeat. I will do this process three times a day for 2.5 hours (basically the amount of time to completely go through a stack of fast travel kits per session) and then take a break in between each session.

my new total for burrower kills is 555 and I have yet to run into a single basic purgewater burrower. I'm just going to chalk it up to be poor RNG. but if I get to a thousand burrower kills before I get the one scan I need then I'm going to assume its a bug and try and submit a report.

One would think by at least 300 burrower kills that I would have encountered it at least once. but unfortunately not in this case.

MYSTERY SOLVED. The only place to get the regular purgewater canister burrower was in the arena.
