I feel like I'm in Fallout 4 rampaging for adhesive again.
There's also a bow that has ammo with decent tear damage without using machine muscle for crafting. Use the ammo that does need it for initial quick hits before they're aware of you to remove components then switch to the other ammo to avoid waste.
. . .especially as "machine muscle" is on literally every machine.
I think it's an unnecessary issue of arbitrary design. Artificially extending the amount of time it takes to kill an enemy. Probably to cover for how often you could accidentally kill a machine before breaking off the component you need because of how hard to target they are with machines spazzing out like epileptics.
I have no idea what you are trying to communicate here, but I'll take a stab at it: I'm playing on the hardest difficulty that isn't broken on a first playthrough, and I don't have these ammo woes. The comment about component tearing also doesn't make sense as "machine muscle" isn't a component, it's a resource.
Speaking of components, the Hunter's Bow is going to be the best option for that, not the Sharpshot: ammo everywhere, can draw three with a weapon technique and draws leagues faster than the Sharpshot.
. . .OP, if you actually are enjoying the game and want to really engage with the game and its systems, you gotta be reading those tutorials to know which is the right tool for the current job (once you do, and you aren't playing on the broken Ultra-Hard for a first playthrough), you'll start to see just how well the systems in this actually work (nothing arbitrary at all about it or meant to artificially inflate difficulty.
Sorry for butting in, but I can't find any skill in the Survivor tree that increase amount of machine resources gathered. I can see one for plants Plant Forager, nothing for other resources. You don't happen to know the name of the skill?
