That said, I checked the differences of the different difficulty settings and it's disappointing that the only difference is HP scaling and damage taken. If there were new moves by enemies or story options at harder difficulties, it would have been more worth going to very/ ultra hard on first playthrough, but meh.
Bottom line, you don't miss much playing at lower difficulties.
Ultra Hard was already a challenge on NG+ in HZD with proper loadouts, so I imagine a first playthrough on ultra hard in this game would be a nightmare with no skills or weapons.
