Torn machine parts disappearing
I'm having an issue where I will absolutely clearly tear the pieces I'm looking for off the machines, absolutely see them flying off, and after the fight go around to look for them and they're nowhere to be found. Do they disappear after a certain amount of time or something? I've spent like 10 minutes wandering around a battlefield trying to find a super rare piece I popped off only to give up and leave empty handed.

Anyone else have this issue?

You are likely destroying them. This is where tear blast shines. Look at your weapon impact damage. Tear ammo (glowblast bow) has low impact and high tear, way less likely to destroy.

Hmm well I'm using 10 damage, 417 tear arrows so I can't imagine I'm destroying them, unless you can destroy them AFTER you've popped them off.... can my super (radial blast) be blowing them up??

Hmm, no that should be fine, the only time I've seen this as an issue is with Tremmor Tusks on the Ice, as they can go below the ice making looting impossible.

They purposely made this change in the game for...reasons. It's the same on the PS4 version. In ZD you should shoot off parts and then collect them. In FW, they rarely drop parts anymore. I mean they drop and vanish.

Likely they nerfed collection to make it harder to build weapons and stretch out gameplay.

Certain components despawn when the enemy dies. You can see which do this while scanning the enemy. It should say something like "Destroyed upon Death" or something like that when you scroll through the differenct. Many parts don't despawn. Just need to look into which do before you attack

I don't think that's what that means. "Destroyed upon death" means that shooting the part off is the only way to collect it.

Because fans love it when the Devs add needless farming and random drops of rare parts. "Lets waste our players time!" "YES! What a great idea! Everyone likes wasting time!" $$$$$$

Nah... ur not imaginating it... stuff disappears randomly in this game... sometimes it works and stuff sticks around like it's supposed to... and sometimes the stuff just vanishes into thin air. Game probably has a grid style world map respawn loading thing and if you happen to kill something in a respawn seam... well.... too bad. That's my guess, anyways.

You'll also find that Machines have an invisible teather on the open world... where they won't go past a certain point, and I'm sure eveyone just abuse that in the Hardest difficulty mode only to get stomped in the Closed off boss fights and arena fights where you can't cheeze the radius limitations.
