(update) (solved) have some quastion on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 drivers on linux for ubuntu 22.04.4
so my thing is when i start up the game i get a warning that my nvidia card is compatible with the game but i need to upgrade my driver from 545 version to a 551 version driver becuse of glitches and i just had my first crash so i started looking in to the driver part but.. if i am not mistaken that there is no driver version 551 for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 ?

am i missing something ?

(update) figured out that it was not driver version that caused the crash it was the steam overlay

The game is made for windows, so are the warnings too. Try to install the latest 550 driver and could be that the crashes are gone

the thing is that the driver does not even show up for me if i search terminal for recommended drivers

all i get is

vendor : NVIDIA Corporation
model : TU106 [GeForce RTX 2060 Rev. A]
driver : nvidia-driver-450-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-535 - distro non-free recommended
driver : nvidia-driver-545-open - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-418-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-535-open - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-470 - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-470-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-545 - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-535-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-535-server-open - distro non-free
driver : xserver-xorg-video-nouveau - distro free builtin

the thing is also why is it recommending me for an even older driver then 545 version that is a mystery for me

oh also im running steam from a flatpak version can that mybe be it ?

like they event updated the driver of nvidia on the flatpak version?

It's say's recommended driver , but it's simply a list of available driver for your graphic card.
In some cases could be a better option for older driver.
Steam from flatpak shouldn't be a problem at all.
I don't have idea for the driver on flatpak, never used it on desktop, usually i install the driver manually
