Purgewater resistance
I know what purgewater is for against enemies: negate their resistances.

But what is the purgewater resistance in armor for? What does purgewater do to me, good old Aloy?

The real reason to care is that purgewater attacks do less damage though. Cleanse Potions exist, even if you forget about them 99% of the time (outside of Plasma).

Oh. So does it prevent machines from using elemental attacks too? Does it also negate my elemental resistances? If both were the case, this would make a lot of sense.

yah, Purgewater prevents machines from using elemental attacks, eg, Fire Clawstrider can't use fire attacks against you. And if you are hit by enough machine Purgewater attacks (there's a drench meter) you won't be able to use elemental arrows.

Purgewater armor slows the rate of getting to that 100% drench status where you won't be able to use elemental attacks.

Interesting, thanks! I like the complexity of this game's combat systems.

me too. the number of different weapons and outfits makes for a lot of different combat styles Aloy can use. allows for great range of creativity.

You'll also receive less physical damage from purgewater attacks. A purgewater resistant armor plus coils make fighting tiderippers a breeze.
