Personally, I think the only place away from North America we might travel to would be the Great Delta of the Quen
Secondly, I think it's going to be somewhat similar to Mass Effect 3 in terms of "how to defeat Nemesis" -- while we may spend a significant amount of time travelling around and picking up 'old tech', I think it will ultimately be about Aloy somehow convincing Nemesis not to harm Earth. After all - technically speaking, EARTH didn't do anything to Nemesis, Nemesis wanted to destroy the Zeniths for what those people did to it, so this might theoretically work.
I can even imagine the finale being away from Earth -- like Aloy and Sylens* flying to Odyssey and then flying towards Nemesis (with the old tech being needed to power up the ship), so that whatever confrontation happens, it takes place away from Earth, shielding the inhabitants and biosphere from damage. Aloy in space, even if only for the last chapter, might definitely be an epic conclusion.
And, my last prediction is that prior to the finale, Aloy will 'plant a seed' of herself in Eleuthia in some way, shape or form, and she will sacrifice herself to stop Nemesis (perhaps trading her life for the lives of everyone on Earth?), and then, in a post credit scene, we will see a little baby girl being born.
So let's say you are walking or running outside camp and you suddenly get ambushed or surrounded by 4 to 5 Raptors kind of machines. Now you have to fight and you your skills to either defeat all of them or run away like using smoke bombs.
And I want to see more advanced machines like they cannot see and attracted to sound but is more deadlier.
I agree. Also when travelling around the world to convince people to join and tell them about the threat, you have to help them first.
Another thing is Nem*** has reached earth already and have developers robots like humans (with 2 hands and legs) and are becoming deadlier. So now you are playing terminator kind of style game. And the robots are controlling the machines and most of the time travel and fight together. So now Horizon is on a different level.
And you have to go to every cauldron if it is the continent to learn about them.
Any wonder why Skyrim and Fallout-4 are the most popular games in the galaxy? NEXUS Mod website: Skyrim = 6.7 BILL_yun downloads. Fallout-4 = 1.6 BILL_yun downloads. Summary: with console commands and mods, this allows players to PLAY THE GAME THEIR WAY - not by the dictates of the developers. (Duhhh). Not my "opinion".
Investors who want an ROI need to hammer that FACT into the heads of the game creators.
I've played Skyrim 2,500 hours. Fallout-4 3,360+ hours. Why did I play it 22 times DIFFERENTLY? HINT: the game endings depend on MY decisions (good or bad).
Post-Apocalyptic games like Fallout & Horizon are closely related to REAL_HISTORY scenarios. Since [most] everyone knows that nuclear war is certainly MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) - WW3 will be fought with BIO-WEAPONS where the aggressors have the antidote (for themselves) before releasing it on their enemies (who can't see or identify the enemy). Horizon ZD brilliantly exposes the disgusting side of human nature of avarice & greed ubiquitously prevalent in the world today (Faro). OH! did it get out-of-hand? Super-duhhh (roll eyeballs).
Yes, we all like challenges in the game - however with the age of non-woke gamers being 33-35 (and not zit-nose kids that have to shoot-every-thing that moves) - a good thoughtful STORY with various alternatives would be good.
I love being the one who out-smarts the bad guy to hang himself....not just "shoot-em-up"
I just LOVE being able to FLY & explore the fabulous graphics in this game...including being able to GLIDE down from great heights. It would be NICE to have an underwater weapon.
Lets also remember they don't have a good method of fast travel. While in game you can hop around, realistically it would take Aloy days or weeks to travel between the various cities she is visiting. Traveling overseas would be a months long journey. If they do set it overseas, the entire game would need to be there. There is no way they'd be able to go back and forth to various continents repeatedly in the limited time they have before the threat's arrival.
As for other games I'd like to see in the Horizon universe... something I think would be interesting would be a Civilization style 4X game. Literally managing a tribe or civilization as it expands and exploits resources (machines) and learns new technology as they try to achieve some kind of various win objectives (dominate the land, wipe out enemies, negotiate peace, achieve some scientific discovery....) Not an action or RPG like what we have now, this would be a side-game clearly. Probably set after Aloy sets everything right so the machines themselves are not a threat but rather a resource or tool to be used for growth or conquest.
There seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding here.
Hephaestus built Eleuthia Cradles all around the world, which is why humans are everywhere, not just in the USA. PROJECT ZERO DAWN Staging Area was in Bryce, Utah ("Sunfall"), but 'harvest initiatives' were executed all around the world, collecting human and animal zygotes and plant seeds from everywhere. Whether those were stored locally and later discovered by Hephaestus, or whether they were moved to the US and Hephaestus or some machine later relocated them to where they were needed -- that's not fully explained.
The bottom line is, the world is littered with Hephaestus Cauldrons and Eleuthia Cradles, as well as Minerva Transmission Towers; there are also Regional Control Centers (never utilized), and logically speaking, there should be 'hidden' additional facilities (or sensors) for monitoring the environment, so that Aether, Demeter and Poseidon could control their machines (made by Hephaestus) to perform their tasks.
I like your ideas very much especially that ending
To travel overseas you do NOT need a massive map. All you need is to scale down tremendously the continents. Just like you fast travel you have a loading screen behinds the scenes loads the map. So same thing here with different continents.
Just like the map you have in Horizon dawn and Horizon forbidden west can be a perfect size of the continents. This is not Microsoft flight simulator and even then not sure how accurate the maps are.
As mentioned earlier, either Nemesis has already hit and reach earth and yes spreads round the world upon entry. Or it is almost here then half way in Horizon 3 it hits earth.
