In the tech world, you'll find that some problems are easier and quicker to fix than others.
I, like others, have had zero FPS issues. Only some sound stuttering once in a great while. I'm actually surprised that I have not encountered any real issues at this point, I usually avoid the first couple of weeks of a game's launch, but glad I didn't this time around.
Because there aren't any, I tested it on 3 different PC's no problems with cutscene FPS ..even in windows with a 7900XTX maxed out at 4k with no FSR enabled but AMD frame gen enabled, never saw a drop there either
Tested it with an old AMD 6600, barely gets 50FPS on low settings, but even in cutscenes, no drop in frames..
Tested it in Linux also, can lock it at 165FPS ultrawide, no drop in FPS in cutscenes.
If you're still having issues then you're cursed or you have an AMD and I can't help you.
DirectStorage is a useless Microsoft technology
The game swaps textures for cut scenes. But it doesn't get rid of old ones. Thus memory bandwith overflow and tanked perfomance.
Deleting dstorage files helps to mitigate that, but can cause some textures to be low res. WHICH CAN BE FIXED BY FORCING IT to load normal textures.
In other words, I can fix the occuring issues MANUALY. But they should be fixed by the game itself, not by me clicking on settings.
Also, most problems with textures came after the hotfix.
I think the problem is clearly VRAM based, relating to loading in high quality character textures on the fly. Whether this is buggy behaviour or an intrinsic issue is much less clear to me. I suspect the latter if I am honest.
There are also other problems such as sudden fps drops during the game regardless of the graphics quality you choose.
