Drop the Farcry comparison, its a third person adventure game, not an FPS - the gameplay would be comparable to something like the new Star Wars JEDI (minus all the force powers), crossed with Tomb Raider (minus the guns). The game has the potential to be quite challenging on higher difficulties.
Its an open world adventure game, of course there are generic run of the mill objectives and side quests - but they aren't overdone to the point of being complete fluff, like in say Hogwarts Legacy or Cyberpunk 2077.
You can skip the Far Cry part as far as I am concerned, but there is plenty to do and much of it initiated by you to focus on improving you and your gear .... combat is good ... many challenges to beat.... world traversal is good ... tons of options for weapons/outfits (too many, almost) .... the graphics are beautiful ... the storyline has some nice plot twists. I have zero complaints. I currently think its an improvement gameplay-wise over HZD. (Some people get hung up on the character looks and supposed political agendas, but thats really their problem, not mine)
While individual setups can give varying results when meeting and exceeding the Recommended specs it's not as stable as it should be.
There's tones of open world things to do but you don't have to do them if you don't want to.
But I did a lot of them because the game is just pretty to look at and has solid combat, that's even with the crippled aiming on consoles, I basically could not fight anything that require ranged attack, like all the big enemies. It will just be much better on PC because you can actually take advantage of the combat system, shooting weak spots and using correct elements and weapon types etc.
