can't progress "the wound in the sand" mission.
looks like I'm stuck here until a hotfix. at the find a way to repair the pump section I get no prompt to turn either of the two valves. I've scanned everything and tried as many angles as i can but i just think the mission is currently impossible to finish.

The issue is that the prompt to turn the valve in the upper second room disappears completely and does not come back. I tried turning the other valves to no avail - the prompt itself stopped appearing.

I don't think this issue has to do with HOW to do the steps - its bugged and the prompts disappear.

I also had the same thing happen earlier in the same quest chain when there was a body to inspect - when I approached it the prompt appeared for a second then disappeared, never to return. Luckily that step was optional.

I just did this right now. You need to pull the lever in the room behind and then it seems there is a certain timeslot in which you need to turn the valve upstairs.. in my case I needed to do this twice, worked the second time as I assumed I was too slow the first time.. or it's just bugged.

looking up original playthroughs of the mission i can see its not timed, most i saw the people turn the second valve before even getting to the second lever.
i started it up and tried your suggestion out to see if it was a work around. and after 10 attempts it didn't work.

This is still happening. Has anybody found a fix?

It's a bad puzzle, but it's not bugged. Just watch a video on how to do it.

I'm getting the same bug as the others, it has nothing to do with "knowing how to do the puzzle" We literally do not get prompts on the valves. Doesn't matter if we've flicked the switch or not. I've watched a clear video and do not get the prompts that they do.

Turn the one on the bottom level first, then jump/climb up to the top one and turn it on.

here's a video of whats happening if my description was confusing

it is timed, you need to pull lever then quickly jump up top and turn the wheel, if yer to slow nothing happens.
Took me 4 tries to get it right

Actually now i think about it theres more to it :

you enter the first room and find the lever the dead guy was working on
you try the lever but it brakes something and you get a leak
you find second room and turn the wheel to stop the leak, your companion yell to you that the leak stopped.
you jump down to find the second lever, this is to bypass the broken lever. pull lever and get back up fast and turn the wheel
If you're to slow the wheel puts water back to the broken first lever, your companion will yell its leaking again, you must turn the wheel again to stop the leak before you can go back down and try again, key is listen to companion he will tell you if its leaking or stopped, it must be stopped before you try again each time.

When ya get it right companion will cheer YAAAY it worked :)
...play with sound on or you wont know whats going on :)

"Puzzle starts with leaks and such. Do not try to solve that here. Use focus and move from there.

A. climb up and go to the room behind the vent after opening the vent. (pull beam so you can jump to the vent).
B. On the level where you enter the back room is a wheel regulator. If you use that the leaking stops. (voice sayin g the leaking stopped)
C. jumb down and pull the lever.
D. go back up and use the wheel regulator in the same room again. (do not try to go to the main room) Do this as fast as possible else the water stops due to high pressure and you have to repeat the proces.
If you have done all correctly you here a voice form the other room saying the water flowing. Job done. No leaks.

Nothing like that happens. The action doesn't appear to be triggered.

If I remember right, correct sequention is:
-scanning area when comming in first time, waiting till NPC dialogue is exhaused
-pulling/examining lever in first room
-closing first valve
-going up to second room
-closing second valve
-pulling second lever
-opening second valve
-returning to main room and pulling first lever

The problem was not the order of actions, the problem is (at least in m case) the missing Action trigger that should appear near all switches (including wheels). I had to load a previous save, right after killing the machines, to proceed. This way, the action was available when I arrived near them.

i guess everyone missed what I was saying is the problem
I have scanned and done all the npc dialogue when first coming across the room. I pulled/examined the lever in the first room. what is happening is the valve at the top of the second room HAS NO PROMPT TO TURN IT.
its not a timed thing because I'm not able to get to the timed part because I CAN'T TURN THE VALVE TO STOP THE LEAK.

sorry if I'm frustrated I just feel like no one is listening.
