If the error shows up during gameplay, your GPU driver might be crashing.
And it wasn't a crash.
I run multiple monitors and the other 2 continued to run at the same time as the error without issue.
My event viewer also showed no crashes for any of my drivers at the time.
It was a so far one off error where the game decided i needed to upgrade to a non existent update.
Now a not so one off issue i keep getting is my melee attack keeps breaking. I.E if i light or heavy attack, or power attack, instead of attacking, Aloy's animations just spaz out and she doesn't attack.
I see it was a common issue on console that they never even bothered to try fix and has now found its way to PC.
The game should be detecting your driver if it is installed properly.
