If you want a story video recap to watch instead, the two most recommended are...
This one, which is more or less just the essential beats, and does a great job explaining them. https://youtu.be/rmx0uL-CXkI?si=CpAP2MoMAtqncof5
Or this one, which can kind of get into the weeds with sidestory / collectible information, but does paint a broader picture. Great for detail, if that's your thing. https://youtu.be/wZreAuJwMZ8?si=vC0QkYiiZXaelP1J
As great as this game is though, the first one is still a blast so don't feel apprehensive of starting it over / using a mod to catch up to where you were / etc. if you want to enjoy it. Very much worth it.
But (many people are saying) you are doing yourself a disservice by failing to experience the story in HZD.
But you do you. Even setting the story aside, both games have good gameplay (many people are saying). So if you are here for the gameplay, sure, just stay for the gameplay.
