Forbidden West crashes my PC
This game crashes my PC during the shader loading screen and if I manage to get through, it crashes during gameplay and I have reboot my PC. I'm running a ryzen 9/12 core, 32gb ram, and a rx6900. Its 2024, if the game doesn't work, why release it? Ill never buy a game at launch again, and this game has been out for 2 years. Unbelievable.

U might wanna look in to ur pc and whats actualy causing the crash. using event manager or something. saying the game dosent work when thousands of people are playing it just fine is kinda dumb dont u think? im on a 7 5800x 16gb with 4080 and the game runs buttery smooth out the box. Have not crashed once. AMD had some issues in the past with they GPUs drivers and such. its been on par with NVIDIA lately but u never know it could just be that.. maibye ure tryna run something ur gpu dosent support or w/a.

Several people are noting that they also are experiencing crashes. I did see several posts with issues with shader compilation and being unable to get past that point.

I myself am experiencing constant crashes in the game. NOTHING is showing in the event viewer because windows isnt REGISTERING there was an issue.

Just because some don't have any issues doesn't mean there isnt an issue. There definitely is, several others have noted it themselves.
Would love to provide you with some event logs from the Event Viewer, but as I noted myself in my own post, there is none to show. Zero.

Nobody said its only hapening for 1 person. What i did say is the large majority of players are playing the game just fine. if the game was broken to an extent that nobody can play dont u think all we would see is *Crash* in every single thread? again idk why its crashing for people and maibye it will be sorted but my main reason was is that the game is working. maibye not for some people but its working and realy damn good to those that it does. the performance is damn good

First disable any overclocking/undervolting on the GPU. If that doesn't help, maybe try reinstalling you GPU-Drivers from scratch using DDU. I had a similar issue in Hogwards Legacy and that was the only thing that helped.

This sentence above is what I'm responding to since it implies that since many people are playing this game that there isn't an actual issue...and implying that its the OP's PC thats the issue.

Feel free to check out my own post. And the comment from Nixxes on it-I'm assuming they responded to be sure that I send in the reports/tech support requests with all my logs since there IS an issue that many have noted.

There is a fairly large amount of players experiencing the crashes. In game and also during the shader compilation. Its not everyone, no, and its frustrating to experience, but its not (likely also in OP's case) an issue with their PC or the user.

I have over 100 games on steam, None of them have made my PC crash to where I had to reboot until I installed this game. It is a real problem and im glad you don't have it.

Doubt Oc is the issue here but worht a try ig. i personaly have a my R7 on all core 4.7Ghz and my gpu is on a coupple extra clocks from auto oc but that hasnt caused any issues so far for the past 2 years

When it works, im getting 4k/60fps maxed settings. Its frustrating waiting this long, only to find out it crashes your PC. Lesson learned though, i'll never buy a game at launch again.

If you are crashing and you have AMD GPU you may wanna send a bug report to AMD about it, would not surprise me one bit if its the drivers, there already been reproduceable bugs reported in Forbidden west with 6700 XT / 6750XT those cards appearntly have a graphical bug in the old Horizon Zero Dawn game to.

Its been both amd and Nvidia GPUs/ intel and amd cpus that are reporting the issue unfortunately. Doesnt seem to be attached to any one component/brand atm. They all are varying as well from newest to older generations

I am crashing too on a brand-new HP Omen 45L I9 13900K, RTX4090 with 48gb DDR5 5200. I recently used DDU to remove both Intel and Nvidia drivers and then reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers. So far, I have not had any issues with any other games on the highest settings other than this one. Disappointing.

Currently I have an RTX 4080 and the game crashes every time I enabled Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation. I don't know if AMD cards have an option like this, but I hope any of this tidbit helps.
