GOG release?
Hello hello!

Are there any plans to release HFW on GOG.com like you guys did with Zero Dawn? I bought HZD on GOG and would like to keep supporting the DRM-free releases.

Given that Sony has released quite a few games on GOG now - I'm hopeful, but it would be helpful to know more about when we could expect a GOG release so I know how long I must wait for this piece of art :)

Thanks and keep those PS4/5 games coming to PC, Nixxes! :)

It took a year or two for the first, so might be the same with this one.

I expect they will, as they also know that many people (including me) will also buy it a second time on GOG to have that "forever" backup copy.

Yes please! GOG is my store of choice, so having Forbidden West there would be great! I'd buy it immediately

I hope it isn't the case, seeing how BG3 still made a killing releasing same day on GOG as Steam.

Plus HFW was cracked like 30s into its launch, so not like the game needs useless DRM at this point anyway.

Hoping to see it on GOG sooner, rather than later!

No, the first one was on GOG after four months. August on Steam, November on GOG.
I hope for the same with HFW.

Yes please. This would have been a day one purchase, if you had released it day one on GOG.

It took about 3 months and 18 days for HZD to come to GOG after Steam. There isn't much reason to drag things out this time either.

Ah sorry, must have had it confused with another title. In fact yes, mixed it up with God of War.

Yep, I really hope too that it will come as soon as possible, in any case I will wait for it to come out on GOG!

Here is another vote for this coming to GOG as well.

what a ridiculous thought process, you buy a game twice incase the store thats been around forever vanishes and instead of buying it then when it would likely be £1.99 you buy a spare copy at £49.99, strange people roam these forums

The store that has been around forever is not above yanking games from user libraries and its perceived "Good guy" status may change once GabeN steps down. On the other hand nobody can take downloaded GOG installers away.

As for why some people buy twice, I imagine it's to do with wanting both a GOG copy and the ability to play the game immediately. Otherwise they'd wait, like the rest of us.

Must genuinely be hard work living in a brain that operates like that

Every month there's some drama about digital libraries either shutting down or removing purchased content from users. I'd rather take control into my own hands and hardware than hope that Valve will stay mostly-good for all eternity.

Nor do I feel particularly happy with having to ask Valve for permission every time I wish to play a game I have purchased.

No need to be a hostile child just because you don't understand someone else's choices.

I prefer to wait for a GOG release too, but I can't judge people who'd want to show support for their favourite games by buying twice if they have the means to do so.
