Brutal fps drops in Cinematics and gameplay
I come here to tell you about a recurring problem with me and other players, my PC has an RTX 4060, Ryzen 5 5600x and 16GB of RAM, every time I open the game the fps is 115 or even 160 fps, but when time passes or when I enter in one scene, it drops to 60, 22 or 9 fps out of nowhere, and if I don't close the game and open it again, this fps bug doesn't go away, it stays at 30 or 22 fps, it stays like this with dlls 3 and frame generation activated, it has low fps even using all nvidia technologies, and I'm running at 1080p, please Nixxes, solve this problem of fps loss in character scenes and the brutal fps drop problems, this game even runs on the ps4, but On a PC, it's difficult to keep the game running consistently. Thank you for your attention, I really like your work, and I'm sure there will be an update to correct these problems.

,I have a 3060ti, and while I get frame rate drops in cutscenes, it only goes down into the 40's. I did get improvement when I ran Geforce Experience optimum settings, but couldn't say what specifically helped.

Yes, I did that, the fps increases, but when I go to a cinematic the fps drops again and stays at a low fps until I close and open the game again, this problem of getting a low fps after a cinematic is very strange.

I am running a 3080 and i tweaked my settings to where its quite stable but I also had this happen sometimes, what made it happen less and to a lesser degree for me was putting level of detail on medium. And using Exclusive fullscreen.

Maybe it helps you guys as well.

yes, true, but Nixxes has to see why this is happening, because if I go with Nvidia's recommendation, it leaves everything at the highest, and it's difficult to understand what the real problem with the fps drop is, one hour it's running at 166 fps or 115, it goes to 30 or 9 fps out of nowhere, but cinematics are the biggest problem

Remove direct storage related dll files from root folder.

what are the dll files?

This is happening to me too. Gameplay is smooth and without issues but some story cutscene completely tank my fps. It’s disappointing that despite so many reports on this nixxes will not acknowledge this very clear performance bug.

I fully agree

Nixxes knows how to do a good job, but we need updates to fix these fps bugs, see the last of us part 1, it had several problems at launch, but today it is very playable, it can run with everything on ultra with more than 60 fps and no brutal vram consumption, same thing cyberpunk 2077, today it is very playable, I hope Nixxes fixes these bugs in Horizon.

I came to this post to say the same. I noticed Level of Detail causes some FPS drops. Just as you mentioned, dropping the setting down to medium alleviated the issue substantially .

For some reason Cinematics go really hard on CPU and GPU if you have set "Dynamic resolution scaling" to displays level. I do not know why this happens, but tuning down that settingfor example from 60 to 45 on my 1440p (Ryzen 5800 + Radeon 6800) stressed CPU and GPU far less - Steam overlay indicating FPS of 59-60 varying... really weird stuff.

Also in the desert, the sand drifting in air, Dynamic reso scaling caused silly low rendering quality - blurred 1440p - I think for the same reason... cannot achieve 60 fps, but only 59,xxxxx :-D

It's clearly a bug. No sure fire cure yet even though some claim theirs fixes everything for sure. I've put hfw on hold because of it.

Strange discovery. If I switch to 21:9 2560x1080 the cutscenes play at 16:9 but they also play at full speed.
