If you're not using Exclusive Full-screen, try it out

For a long time I didn't realize there was another option past full-screen in the options menu.

Switching to Exclusive FS and not FS or whatever the windowed option is, made all the difference in the world for me, as far as smoothness. Smooth as butter. Better GPU utilization, less latency.

Also, if you're crashing and getting the out of video memory error, try disabling NVIDIA overlay.

having the game on exclusive fullscreen makes my game much smoother but if i minimize it then the game crashes, any fix for that? its really annoiyng since i need to minimize a good bit if wanna do other tings...
PS: found out it only happens if i have obs open, but i wanted to stream the game and i only use obs... need some help =S

@KingMidasNV Hello thanks for this suggestion, yes this did help but unfortunately when i run it with DLSS FG or AMD FSR 3 FG i see a blurry mesh of frames on the right hand side, during fast movements, it is really distracting, has anyone else ever experienced this? does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, sometimes disabling Fullscreen Optimizations (Windows cheats and treats it like borderless fullscreen) helps in a lot of games.

Right click HorizonForbiddenWest.exe (AnyGame.exe) > Compatibility Tab > Tick the box.

You know it's working by hitting the Windows key. If the start menu pops up on top of the game, it is "fullscreen optimized". If it minimizes the game and pops up the menu on desktop, it is actual fullscreen.

Actually "Exclusive Fullscreen" runs the same and it can discreetly hang in a black screen as opposed to "Fullscreen" which is Borderless, at least for me. I did try it (along with many other things) as this game seems to be the heaviest (most hardware demanding) i've encountered so far.
EDIT: Scratch "heaviest". This is unoptimized as hell!
