If you're not using Exclusive Full-screen, try it out
For a long time I didn't realize there was another option past full-screen in the options menu.

Switching to Exclusive FS and not FS or whatever the windowed option is, made all the difference in the world for me, as far as smoothness. Smooth as butter. Better GPU utilization, less latency.

Also, if you're crashing and getting the out of video memory error, try disabling NVIDIA overlay.

I'm on a 13900k/4090

Should ALWAYS use exclusive fullscreen.... it makes everything from threadding to gsync and a million other things work better. DX12 basically got rid of it for no good reason and its a clown move.

I am using it and cant figure out how to uncap the FPS. It will only allow me a max of 60 FPS.

This is true. I knew this and just didn't pay attention enough to realize there was another option past full screen. lol

Hopefully this post will help others who didn't notice it. :)

A few suggestions.

Adjust your refresh rate in the display tab, in game.

If you cant adjust past 60, maybe you don't have windows set to proper refresh rate.

Some of the options are locked when you have other options set etc. Try turning off all the DLSS stuff at the bottom., then look to see if you can adjust refresh rate.

These are just guesses after many hours of screwin around with this. Hope it helps

when I reinstalled my display drivers, it set my monitor refresh rate in windows to 60 and
the game wouldn't let me set it any higher. Had to make sure my monitor was running at 144 in windows before I could set it in game

Is this post a joke?!

Exclusive fullscreen = borderless window mode = same as desktop

This means your desktop Hz = your fps limit.

Exclusive Fullscreen is not the same as Borderless. Exclusive Fullscreen mode allows you to change the refresh rate on-the-fly, whereas Borderless mode does not.

You weren't kidding. I didn't even look at those options. Game runs even smoother.

It's the other way around. Exclusive FS means the game rendering takes complete control of the display. It could change the display resolution. For example, your desktop may be 4k while the game can be set to 1080p. When you alt-tab out of game, the screen has to readjust to 4k and you can notice such lag. Same thing goes when alt-tab'ing into the game.

Also disable Reflex. It's bugged und introduces microstutter, unfortunately.

Thanks

I think you saved me, because the game starts in "Full screen" by default and I never touched it. Turns out this is windowed fullscreen ¬¬

Now, the problem with the mouse lag I had, is almost gone (still not perfect, but better)

I was about to open a thread here asking if other people had mouse lags xDD

Thanks!

In the display options screen, in game. Scroll to the right past the fullscreen option. There is a bordered/windowed option, then full-screen, the exclusive full-screen.

seems I don't have this option, I can see only full-screen, borderless and windowed.

No idea what bullshittery is this, I have only 3 modes to switch, previous game I have exclusive fullscreen but in this one I don't

I dunno why you can't select it, but here is a screenshot to prove it exists lol https://steamcommunity.com/id/KingMidasNV/screenshot/2447216454513771634/
