Games like Rachet, Guardians, Spider-Man, GoW, Last of Us runs great. 5800x3d and 3080TI.
Been playing Nightingale, 7d2d, few games on Epic and on Amazon Luna with this PC in the past week.
I have been streaming to Discord for all other games, no problem, but did not stream this game since the first crash. Just started playing 5 hours ago.
Only programs open now while playing this game is Discord.
3.4 hours of play time in the game, but every 20 min it would crash and would reset back to the prior save point.
This has not been an issue with any other game play.
I did disable the overlay for Discord-just hanging out in voice channel with friends.
I just played Nightingale with no crash issues.
Computer build finished 1.5 weeks ago-fully new PC/components.
3.4 hours of play time in the game, but every 20 min it would crash and would reset back to the prior save point.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
I have just removed and am going to try reinstalling again: But the files were all verified.
Will try playing without being in Discord as soon as installation is done.
Obs was removed, all overlays were disabled.
So will try playing without being in discord next.
I'd upload a ss but cant: the only thing in my task tray active initially was:
discord,
steam,
GEForce Experience,
Windows Defender.
I also had a web-browser open.
As soon as the issue started, I closed out all the other windows/unneeded programs during game-play attempts.
First thing checked was my firewall to ensure Steam and the game itself was allowed thru. They are.
Closed out during game attempts:
Web browser
GEForce Experience and GEForce Control Panel
I WAS still in Discord the entire time in a voice channel trying to troubleshoot with a friend, except during restarts/setting changes.
Task manager was checked after the 3rd crash. It showed:
APPS:
Discord, Steam Client Webhelper, Task Manager, Windows Security.
BACKGROUND PROCESSES:
AMD, antimalware, host processes, microsoft processes, nvidia containers, runtime processes, steams various services
WINDOWS PROCESSES:
on into the various necessary windows processes.
Install still going.
Will update in the morning and see how it goes with fresh install, not being in discord.
That should be the only additional program running.
Will look at that tomorrow am after the install is complete/ I am awake.
this video fixed my problems : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-KdL99qRug&t=199s ----- before it worked fine the first 10 hours than crashes constantly not even being able to load saves. i ran Compatibility wich helped and also chnaged Vram like the video explained. i have the same specs like you just witch i7-13700k . i thought my stuff was broken but i think its just bad optimization for newer hardware
Changing VRAM (like Herbert below also suggested) did not fix it.
Tried this morning with a fresh install: Nothing worked. No background processes or apps were running except for Steam and the game itself. I also tried turning off Windows Defender temporarily.
Game crash about 5 min into playing.
Event logger shows an event occurring at the time of the crash but is unable to give specific information: Event ID 5858 which is a general WMI error. It has no details attached: fully blank except for event id number, time. Unknown process, unknown cause.
Yes, I tried increasing the paging file size. Started with your size suggestions and then tried Herbert's Youtube video suggestion (calculated for my PC Ram 32gb set to 1.5x)
Still had an error-though a different kind: A game freeze and not full crash. Had to manually stop the game.
I have also uploaded all requested error files/opened a ticket with PS as listed in the forums from steam regarding this game and any technical issues.
I've done everything on every site/youtube/etc now. I will have to wait for a patch.
Game is unplayable. Super disappointed.
I tried to refund, but because i spent so much time trying the fixes, it went past 2 hours gameplay so they will no longer refund. I didnt even get far into the game- only just got to Meridian.
Explaining in the ticket did nothing either, or directing them to my post here.
They denied the request in 10 minutes and closed my ticket. Fun.
Glad you can play on console at least!
If you do not see the crash report window, or if you want to provide additional context and information, please contact support. Make sure to include all the requested files, to help our teams investigate.
Yes unfortunately Im way beyond my refund time aswell, however I know this is a silly question.. but do you have MSI Afterburner / RTSS? It is told around the forums if they are active with some kind of frame limiter the game will lag like hell itself.
