to use the keybord, you need always use due to the gamepad logic more buttons. for example red redemption 2.
my experience with hunting:
with a xbox controller, there are no problems. hit boxes in this game and also in previous zd are so big, so you can hit them without aim assist and it feels like a fair challenge, when you can not hit small smaller body parts on first try.
uncharted 4 without an aim assist on gamepad was a pain ...
if you have a ps gamepad, you can use also gyro for aiming, but i do not have it so can not comment it.
... just buy a decent gamepad, play it on hard without aim assist and you will have THE hunting experience. with mouse/ keybord, the shooting is loosing a lot of it impact and you will get just an average game.
