21:9 aspect ratio problem
I'm currently encountering an issue with resolution and aspect ratio settings. My monitor has a native resolution of 3440x1440, but even when I set this resolution in-game with an aspect ratio of 21:9 or Auto, I still see black bars on the sides of the screen. The only settings that properly fit the screen are 2560x1440 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which seems quite odd.

Do you have any suggestions to fix this?

Thanks :)

UI is also stuck on 16:9 on 21:9 aspect.

It's because 3440 x 1440 isn't actually true 21:9 (more like 21.5:9) so for some reason playstation ports stick to true 21:9 and place the black bars on the side if you pick 21:9 as the aspect ratio.

However If you change the aspect ratio to auto it should go way or it did for me at least.

UI stays in th4 same location sadly. Hoping this gets enough attention and they patch this in

Well, as I mentioned, I tried using "auto" but without success. What ended up working for me (quite randomly, I must admit) was deleting all the files located under "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition".
After doing this, selecting "auto" as the aspect ratio worked as expected :)

I’m not sure if the game fully supports 21:9 aspect ratio but I have a 32:9 monitor and it’s fine.Same goes with the first horizon game (zero dawn). 32:9 is fully supported and looks incredible.
Resolution is 7680x2160 for my 57” or 5120x1440 for my 49”. Both are Samsung Neo G9.
21:9 is uncommon to me and maybe some games may not fully support it.
the auto does actually fix the black bars, much better. thanks
