how to use pull caster with a keyboard ?
either i am dumb or something is not quite right

Hold mouse-right, touch E to switch to pull caster, then still holding mouse-right, aim and then hold mouse-left to shoot and attach, continue to hold mouse-right and mouse-left to pull the object.

If you are attempting to grapple, just double-jump i.e. press space twice in short succession. For extra credit, tap left-crtl while the grapple is pulling you up, and at the end of the grapple it will launch you in the air.

(The bindings on controller aren't necessarily any more intuitive.)
