Can't launch the game
Hey, is anyone having the same issue? Regardless of the settings i use in the launcher, when I press play I get a quick blackscreen and then the game crashes and I get a crash report.

System:
Win 11
Ryzen 7 3700X
RX 7800XT
16 Gigs of Ram

Would've kind of expected that this game launches with the ability to, well, launch.

Same issue at me.

The first game launches worked very well but after this I got the same issue.

Only Workaround:
Check game files and after this the game should launch.
(Optional: Changing one graphics options & change it directly back.)

Hope this helps you, too.

Hit WIN+R key and type in:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp and hit enter.

In the folder that it opens up, select everything and delete it. You will get some dialog that says cannot delete, blah blah, This is just Windows stopping you from deleting anything important, just (continue) skip that stuff and let it finish.

Try running it now.

GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ti
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200 Mhz
Storage: 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD x2

1. Verify game cache files via Steam
2. Update NViDIA / AMD drivers to latest version optimized for Forbidden West
3. Update DirectX (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Download/confirmation.aspx?id=35)

Last but not least go to:

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition\<user-id>\*.dat

and delete everything in there

Hope it helps

Has anyone actually resolved this??.. I have the game and click play and it says starting but then flashes back to "Play" I've cleared the folders mentioned above - updated the nVidia drivers, rebooted the computer, closed all background programs and apps.. Still Nothing..
