I haven't tried any of my other games yesterday but it shouldn't be a problem since usually they automatically detect the new folder and since it worked great for HFW i don't see why it shouldn't work for any other game.
Happy to see that my solution helped people though! :)
It does affect other games that use and folders in documents like "Saved Games" or "My Games" but they are easily moved to the new location
Please solve it and stop giving us that stupid Microsoft support link.
I saw some solutions relating to Document folder. But I dont want to move my entire folder from "D" to "C". I've never seen such issue with any other games.
I spent 1,5s searching for this, lazy ass.
Hey dude i guess im having the same issue, well the game do not save automatically and when i complete all the first mission when i was about to save in a campfire didnt worked, so is there any I installed the game in my disk E not in my local C, but my Documents are located in my local C.
That can be the problem? also i cheked and it seems that my documents are in the onedrive folder
Instead, on my computer, i followed these steps to give the game permission to write to the folder:
1) Click the Start icon on the taskbar.
2) Search for “Windows Security” and open it.
3) Press on the “Virus & threat protection” option.
4) Click on the “Manage ransomware protection” link.
5) Click on "Block History"
6) Expand the most recent blocks until you see the game listed in the "App or process blocked" field.
7) Select "Action"
8) Select "Allow"
That sounds like an Admn issue if you have to play on a different account. Might want to look into that.
As I read most of everyones comments it definitely sounds it has to do with your OS system not allowing HFW access to save to local. I'll try to recreate your scenarios.
