Yes but tbh and don't take this the wrong way as it's just my own personal opinion but I don't think you should be using a HDD at this point.

Yeah, I am planning on upgrading to SSD soon.

I own the game on EGS (bought there as I own first game there too)

Dreadful load times, but seems to be playable on my 10000 RPM WD VelociRaptor drive. However, it DOES have load time stuttering and you'll feel that as soon as the very first cinematic. Install this on SSD unless you absolutely cannot - a 240 GB Gen 3 NVMe SSD that will fit this game costs $30.

I decided to go ahead and try the game using an hdd. Even though I'm only an hour into gameplay, unlike Avatar I'm experiencing no lag, no glitches of any kind and no crashes while still sustaining a decent frame rate. It runs just as well as the first game did. I have no complaints so far. So if you are using an hdd I say try it. I would recommend not adjusting your graphic settings. I ran it using the auto detect with recommended settings. I have heard about the problems using a dual sense controller so I'm using a series x controller instead!!

I have it installed on my HDD because my SSD is pretty much packed. Anticipated long load times and pop in, but haven't experienced any issues so far, at least in my first few hours. Might still get some problems later on but at the moment everything runs surprisingly smooth

Installed the game on my kid's PC just to try if it would run. To my surprise the game is quite playable on HDD and RX560(!) graphics card. Of course, if you can you should use more beefy hardware ;-)

HDD folks, heads up from a Gen 4 8000+ speed 4TB SSD; pop ins here, too.

So I don't think they even utilized the SSD's very well at all, don't worry.

Hard Disk Drive. Old mechanic hard drives are slow. Those use to read/write 80-180 MB/s.
