Right-click on your audio device, select 'Configure Speakers' and then select the correct speaker layout for your audio device. If you have the wrong speaker configuration selected then you may experience missing audio.
for the record this might just be a me thing but im hoping that this will help you so don't ♥♥♥♥ on me this is just what worked for me.
I have corsair Virtuoso XTs which have surround sound, I think what is happening is that the game is using surround sound and if your headphones are not using 7.1 I believe that it will sound ♥♥♥♥♥♥. So I ended up turning on Dolby Atmos surround sound by pressing windows+R and typing mmsys.cpl and the clicking on my headphones going to properties and the last tab should say Spatial sound, where I turned on Dolby Atmos for headphoens and then going to the Dobly Access App and making sure surround sound was on.
Long story short: turn on surround sound on your headphones in sound settings and doing the proper thing to make sure it works for your headphones,
IDK google exists not gonna turn that on for you lol
But once I return home today I will try linking my airpode and maybe tinker the settings of my wired earphones.
For anyone using headphones, the best option is to either enable Windows Sonic for Headphones or use Dolby Atmos + Dolby app if you've purchased that because the game supports that feature.
You need to ensure Windows is set to stereo output. If you're using an AV receiver with 2.1 speakers connected, you also need to go into the AVR's settings and ensure only your front speakers and sub are configured as active speakers. If you're connected to an AVR via HDMI and your speaker *settings* are at all mismatched from what is physically present, you're going to be missing audio.
