Audio issue, sounds are very bassey
I don't think this is necessarily a bug, but the in-game sounds (not the music) are very bassey, almost muffled. Sounds like the game forces surround sound or something.
I can't find a setting to fix this and I have messed with many of the settings with no luck.
Tried verifying files just in case, didn't change anything.

Some basic info:
I use a G733 headset
The game does NOT hijack my headset audio software (Ghub.)
I'm using the same equalizer settings as I do for all other games with low bass and no surround sound.
My sound settings in Windows remain unchanged after I boot up the game.

If anyone has an idea what might be causing this or how to fix it, please leave a reply.

Edit:
I just tried shutting down GHUB. The sound is EXACTLY the same. Additionally, when I have GHUB shut down, all other sounds played on my PC are muffled the same way that the game is. A theory might be that the game sounds aren't influenced by the software. Perhaps the game isn't supported by GHUB or something.

Upon further testing I can confirm that my audio software (GHUB) doesn't have any effect on the game. When I majorly change the equalizer settings it has zero effect on any sounds in HFW, not in-game nor on the main menu music.

I'm experiencing the same issue as you. Character sounds are so low and muffed. Tried to change some in game audio inputs but nothing changed. My headset is Corsair Void Pro Wireless.
Similar issue also happened another pc port Uncharted 4 but i dunno is it same issue or not.

I have the same headset but I'm not running G Hub (it is unnecessary thanks to being able to upload all settings to the onboard memory). I only had minor crackling during the intro, then it was gone.

In Windows, I'm using the default Generic USB Audio Device drivers so I can enable Dolby Atmos. I'm not using the Logitech drivers because the Logi drivers make it impossible to use Atmos.

I had lots of audio problems with static-popping type noises. Saw in negative reviews people were talking about performance issues with Playstation controllers plugged in. I unplugged my Dualsense Edge, and the popping noises stopped. Not sure if this is relevant to others, but see if unplugging a controller helps.

I also have the same issue. I hope devs fix it fast, because playing the game without proper sound is a no go.

Hmm, not having this issue, tried it on my set of 5.1 speakers AND my Logitech Lightspeed Headsets, both seem to work fine.

One thing I did do was change the audio mixer from default to Headset when using the headset.

Same here. Lot's of crackles in my Logitech Headset.
If I switch settings to sound quality "TV", it seems to be stable.

Did you install the SONY filter by chance?

And staticy, like a poor audio recording. Static is very low level and can be hard to hear unless you know what to listen for. using air pod pros. Going to use wired today to see if my dac changes things
