Error message: "This game requires a CPU that supports F16C commands"
I have an "Intel i7-3930".
CPU-World writes: "The CPU includes NO AVX2, F16C and FMA3 instructions"!
It's over 10 years old, but I've never had any problems with it!!!
The first part of Horizon also went great!
I'll probably have to give the game back!

REMOVE AVX INSTRUCTIONS
like the old horizon zero dawn it had avx instructions and u removed it, do the same here, ik we just need a new processor ect ect but why avx everywhere
omg why are you still on a non-avx cpu
We are in 2024. Upgrade your CPU.
Yea, you tell them. And remove DX12. DX8.1 works just fine!
Christ.
How old is your cpu not to have something as basic as AVX instruction set?!
A 486? Pentium 2?
My dude, there's a certain point at which you can't expect developers to work around your aging hardware. I doubt your CPU meets minimum requirements, so it's literally unsupported.
AVX was introduced in Intel back in 2011 and AMD had AVX1 in Zambezi, also 2011.
AVX2 came in Intel Haswell (2013) and AMD Excavator/Zen (2015 onwards).

If you have old CPU that's on you, you are below minspec.
If you fell into the random youtuber trap with Intel Celeron being the budget king, that's also on you.
Why people dont look at specs before buying a game blows my mind.

why avx everywhere
The AVX instructions are a type of instruction known as SIMD, "Single Instruction Multiple Data". This lets devs write code which executes a single instruction (e.g. to do some kind of mathematical operation) on a lot of numbers (multiple data) simultaneously. For example, if you want to multiply 16 numbers together with another 16 numbers, you could do it the traditional way and execute 16 multiply instructions one after the other, or you could execute one SIMD instruction and multiply all the numbers simultaneously.

Using SIMD means the CPU can do a lot of maths more quickly than is possible without using SIMD instructions like the AVX instructions. Doing a lot of maths quickly is very important for games. Being able to do more maths in the same amount of time is good, because it means more performance, better frame rates, etc.
your cpu doesn't meet the minimum specs and is unsupported
That's Sandy Bridge. Looks like you need Haswell or newer.
first game also required avx on launch but the requirement was removed later. because it was not essential but only used for accessory processes (don't remember exactly). I think it's less likely to happen here.
Just ran into this as well. My CPU is the version before that chip started including f16c support.
*cries*
Two years waiting for this to come to PC.
And I can't afford a new system right now.
The F16C[1] (previously/informally known as CVT16) instruction set is an x86 instruction set architecture extension which provides support for converting between half-precision and standard IEEE single-precision floating-point formats.

Plz fix it
why should they fix a new game for an ancient CPU ?
