I have over 160 games through CDKeys and not a single problem with any of them, it's not a grey market site just because it's not on that site you mentioned doesn't mean it's grey market, also grey markets have made it on to sites like that in the past so that's not a useful tool to determine a markets legitimacy.
Do a bit of research into cdkeys and you will see how they operate, nothing grey about it
Like any business they do have problems. I bought nightingale from there. Tried to redeem and was told key was already used. After many attempts, of sending screen shots of the error, the order number I had go to PayPal and file a claim. I showed them the same proof and was refunded my money. Might been isolated incident, but I was not impressed by their customer service.
I don't think you mean CDkeys, or, if you do perhaps a business model from a long time ago.
I've used them for 7 years and not experienced the above. They have a squeaky clean rep (4.8/10) on Trustpilot going back 11 years, so think you must be mistaking them for someone else.
used them loads tbh, only ever had one issue and after a little back and forth (3 or 4 times with questions ect) refunded.
AAA games havent been an issue thought. key is instantly available.
GF on the other hand did get a key for ps+ and she never used it until like a year after and it was already used, so? ymmv. ;)
It's an unauthorized reseller, of course it's shady.
There's no shame in "shopping around", but claiming these grey market resellers are legit and that there's no issue with it is simply a lie.
People can buy from whatever store they want for all I care, but they should still know what they're doing.
Steam :) and developers are the ones who sell it to these sites, the sites might buy it from like other countries or something for cheaper, but still, developers will get their money and Steam as well. There is nothing wrong with buying steam keys through sites like HRK, Humble Bundle, CDKeys, Instant Gaming and these kinds of sites.
Kinguin, G2A and these ones are probably not really fully legit sometimes, but CDKeys is perfectly fine.
Conclusion: Developers themselves are the ones who sell these keys because the only way to generate a Steam key for a game is to contact Steam to generate them for you and only the devs can do that so devs will get their money from those keys...
EDIT: the thing is also that this game has been out for 2 years and Sony demanding 60€ for it is just crazy, if it was at least 50€ I will be like alright fair, 60€ is a price tag for newly released games, some devs are so greedy that they want 70€ (hello EA), but 60€ is pretty much a price for NEW game, because it is on PC now doesn't mean that it's brand new, the game probably doesn't sell much anymore on PS so they did a port to PC.
There’s no such thing as “an authorised key seller” in the EU, once a publisher sells a game, they lose all exclusive distribution rights.
If you buy a game, and then sell it before activating it, do you actually think that makes you a criminal? lol
