anyone picking this over DD2?

Kinda want to get both but since I only have the time to play one for now, might as well wait a bit to pick up the other.
I love DDDA, also have HZD on Steam, I enjoyed it for the time I spent (~5 hours) but when I tried the new one on PS5, I just lost interest in playing the old one and just watched the story video.
I am curious to know what reasons people choose to buy this over DD2.

Personally, I think this game has way better graphics (even on PS5) than DD2, and I love the ability to soar into the sky and dive into the ocean. But gameplay, while an improvement over HZD, still isn't nearly as good as DD's combat.

Dragons Dogma 2 was very hyped, but the bad optimization kept players away, now Horizon Forbidden West with great optimization gains more attention, but of course time will help the optimization of Dragons Dogma 2

This might be a day one for me.
Digital Foundry has more or less confirmed that the game is running very good.

Dragons Dogma however looks to need a couple of months before it will be enjoyable.
I played DD1 and while I liked it OK, there were so many things that irked me (the worst being saving and the constantly repeating enemies at the exact same points on the map) DD2 would have had to be near perfect for me to buy at full price/day one.

HZD had it's issues but was overall very enjoyable and from what I can tell I will probably like this one as well.

I bought both games as I could not choose one over the other. I played both DD1 and HZD and though both games were excellent.

since DD2 completly destroyed the vocation tree i'm wondering about taking this game instead, i haven't played a lot of HZD but it was a lot of fun

After seeing and hearing more stuff about DD2, I'm a lot more excited for HZD than DD, so I'm buying this.

This game is peak Ubisoft.

Gorgeous world with nothing to explore yet filled with pointless checkmarks and don't get me started on the horrible arbitrary lock progression. You get upgrades throughout the game that only unlock items at checkmarks that you wasted your time exploring, and they serve no other gameplay purpose.

Sidequest that are as bad and pointless as in a Ubisoft game.

Dragon's Dogma is more akin to Skyrim. Get lost in a world worth exploring not feeling like you wasted your time.

I beat HZD, I couldn't bring myself to beat HFW. I was done after getting my flying mount.

Bought this first. I will consider DD2 later down the road. Capcom ports are hit and miss.

I chose DD2, I already play HFW in PS5. DD2 better then HFW for gameplay detail and experience
1. You can build character what you want, men or women and your type
2. You can chose the class
3. No time travel in big map
4. Leveling system RPG are insane
5. Variation enemies, every enemies have different style to beat them, need tactic
6. Need over 100 hours to complete 100% in DD2
7. Replayable games with other chaarcter
8. MOD in the future, will be like Skyrim

My experienced with HFW, the graphics in HFW are superior, do not much hope DD2 graphics will better then HFW. If you want explore the beautiful world like in RDR2, just buy HFW. This game only one next gen graphics after RDR 2 in 2018.

Edit: Wait for buy DD2, some reviewer said have CPU issues, and stuck 30fps. Just wait Steam review before buy DD2
