There is a sidequest to unlock a secret ending, but very few people find that sidequest since it isn't marked.

My happy end in these cases would be simply to see all those "woke" whatever fear mongerers of whatever is different from their "self-righteous" 'norm' and that are constantly trying to instill fear into the rest of the of us if they would simply decide to stop stopping by. That would be my happy ending for this section (and also for the Horizon Zero Dawn too), thus far at least.

Well, the ending, without ruining anything, it seemed like a third game will be done to finish it...i don't remember the first one ending the same way, but it was years ago.

The first game didn't really "end" - when you completed the final main story quest, it would then rewind that final quest completion and set you back before that final quest.

If she dies there is not chance for a prelude after this one but a "happy" end leaves room for a new game.
