Why haven't they released the release date yet?

How do you know it's weeks away. It can be MONTHS away for all we know. Delayed maybe even, nothing you have to show is an objective fact that will set the launch date in stone.

Yeah we really don't know. People seem convinced because of the Nvidia trailer but they release those months before launch. The Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty one was 5 months before it launched. The Control trailer was a year before launch.

they said early 2024, thats why people expected at least a date, especially with the nvidia trailer

I was hoping for a winter release because I get too busy in the warm weather to play games.

Early just means first half, in the same way that games slated as Late 20xx often release in September. It can release any time in the next 5 months and still be early 2024.

Yeah, they can at least announce if they're going to announce the date at the next State of Play.

I'm eager to find this out as well, but I think I've learned not to wish too hard TOO soon, because we get ... well, No Man's Sky, or Cyberpunk - but those are the good examples that WERE vastly improved post-release. Those are the ones we were lucky with. Very few games get that kind of love, presumably more because of resources than lack of passion by the people who created them.

Uncharted 4 was also "SOON" and it took months to release the game. And in a broken state might i add

well, all we can do is to wait with patience and hope that the release date will be no too far away... a most important thing, i think, than the release date itself: the capability of the game to support modders... medders have done miracles with horizon zero dawn making a true masterpiece a real marvel, and i truly hope it will happen to this new game as well...

Usually when a game is listed as early *** year date for a release, then its within the first quarter of the year. So between now and end of March would be my guess.
