How is the population of players?
Is the game dead? I saw 803 on the steam community, wondering if there are others playing.

This would only be Steam numbers. I'm sure there's more who play directly from the site launcher. Also, the game isn't dead, but it isn't super populated either like WoW or something.

I disagree. It is pretty dead. Trying to get a group to run content is like trying to pull teeth.

DCUO is a Cross-Platform Game, so it may not show PlayStation players. It is very active as long as you're on the right server for the right time of day.

You also have to realise each Chapter has a different area. So the "Lantern Story Line" has it's own Metropolis for instance.

Damn, I tried to play and asking a question in /Shout getting no response. Seems like there is no community at all.

Uhh, can confirm that it isn't dead by any means. I've clocked in almost 70 hours in the last 2 weeks and there's always people on.
Sweet Tooth Mar 17, 2021 @ 9:39am
It's still far from dead, to a new player it just feels like it compared to in the past since now different chapters have different versions of Motropolis or Gotham as previously stated (These act as different instances and servers completely). But once you get to the level you can actually go to the Justice League base, you'll notice there's ♥♥♥♥ tons of people in those bases running instants and stuff. It's just gotten harder to see people during the storylines, but even then, I still ran into a bunch of people starting a new toon in the OG Metropolis.

And yes, it has cross platform, so you can't see the PS3/PS4/Non-steam clients and there are more of those than Steam players.

The actual concurrent player base statistics are more like 300k players and subscribers.

The game is vastly populated! Once you get to Level 30, its super crowded!

I mean not exactly lol. The middle tiers and early ones take a good second to find people for raids. The higher you go obviously the more people, but if there is hardly enough players to fill in for the content it makes the grind even longer.

At this point there's a TON of content but not nearly enough people doing it. If it isn't within maybe 2-3 episodes before the current one, its hard to find runs. Esp. to do feats. People say join a league to get it done but that isn't always easy and people don't always want to help. League or not. On top of that the artifact grind is a massive money grab. I could deal with everything else that was a money grab but artifacts are such a huge part of your progression, it ends up costing a lot if you want to keep, and catch up.

But to answer your question, yes and no. If you're top tier, or only do the event raids and stuff you'll be okay. If you're a new toon it's gonna be a slow creep to top cr.

I am new to the game -- you are correct, its somewhat of a lonely journey to the top. However, the game is absolutely amazing and worth the journey. Probably the hardest part for me is want to PVP but they always match me with a high level goon. I am going to enjoy the ride regardless. I got a subscription and its amazing.
