I must admit that I was under the impression that "Mentor" choice gave access to different ranges of abilities more in line with the comic book "powers/attributes" of that particular mentor. If I was mistaken I apologise - I'm new here :D
I would respectfully, pose the question, zero.calvin, if I may, how do you, or can you "know" your power and the role it will have to play in the game before the event?
Many thanks Protocol, I'm going to experiment with Superman style and fire and see where I get to.
Cheers,
Ty
nah, your power is determine by your power and movement mode, as for your role, you can check this.
https://dcuniverseonline.fandom.com/wiki/Powers
each power have a build in secondary role, if you plan to play as the secondary roles, you need to know how to do it inside and out otherwise you'll be a burden.
the secondary roles include. Tank, Controller and Healer.
Tank: hold argo, it's your job to be the group's punching bag.
Controller: one of the harder roles, it's your job to keep everyone's power and the enemies debuff. this is one of the role that you can only get better with practice as playing experience is importance.
Healer: it's your job to keep everyone alive, especially the tank as once the tank goes down, it's group wipe time.
the default roles that every power have access to is DPS, one of the easiest role to play as your job is to just kill things... if you don't want responsibility, choose this role.
Thanks for the clarification zero.calvin, some things are becoming much clearer now.
Cheers,
Ty
Retired hero "Sylva Surfa" (sent back to Galactus for 're-purposing') at level 19 after inability to get past Poison Ivy and Robin. I changed both characters to Villain/Villainess (Ebony Quinn and Aida Quinn - Harley's half sister and brother but that's a whole other story) Aida's doing the business, Ebony's jammed up trying to take care of Mr Freeze. However, both have made it past level 19 quite effectively - I guess it pays to be bad huh?
Cheers,
T
i thought about it a bit and decided (i'm about to make a new character for the 'event')
it's about what you think is 'cool', like a superman origin character that does magic but uses a bow, woo, that's cool (j/k but maybe for someone)
It is PURELY subjective, meaning what YOU think is cool. And that just comes from goofin around with it. Or also watch some videos.
Honestly, idk what i will pick, for my 8th or 9th chr, i forget how many now.
I will look at what i have and do something different.
1. origin; for feels
2. power; for gameplay (roles and combat style)
3. weapon(s); for cool/vibe, but also to complement your playstyle, ranged, melee, in between
4. story, rp, character play, if you into all that, you can even write a backstory
#1, have fun
