What you make your heroes/villains like...
This game is th' best. It reminds me, an' I'm gonna reveal my age now) of Tekken (remember when that first came out on upright slot machines at the arcade?) on steroids.

I wrote a review of the game a while back and said something like, "Running around as a superhero, bashing the bad guys and smashing things up? What's not to like?"

I have only ONE reservation, you go in and make up your character exactly the way you want them to look and give them their awesome powers but through the game you have to "upgrade" their uniform to stay competitive... I don't remember Superman or Wonder Woman doin' that...!

I wish we could progress by utilising different powered up equipment and earn levels of "invulnerability" with our start up uniforms. THAT would be boss...!

What do you think?
Cheers,
Doctor Chrome

P.S. Right, I did it, I left a message for Voltara (Dev) on the Daybreak Games homepage (she seems pretty responsive with messages there) and asked the question about boosts for existing costumes.

Let's see what comes back eh?

You can lock your character's appearance in the style menu and play through the whole game with your initial look from character creation if you want to.

Mawwwwnin' Frost... howz trix?
I know about the lock character but the costumes don't power up, or increase in "boosted power" like getting alternative costume components through the game do they?

I went to the Daybreak forums and left a request like I said...
Curious,

You do need better gear to get better stats, but that does not affect how your character looks if you don't want it to. You set and customize your character look on the separate Style tab menu: https://dcuniverseonline.fandom.com/wiki/Style_Window

As a side note, there is some gear that can be upgraded: https://dcuniverseonline.fandom.com/wiki/Omnipotence#Can_be_equipped_without_being_fully_fortified
