it's already been ahead of its korean competitors by bringing the Combo- based gameplay with action blending into the RPG system, and vice versa
maybe the graphics+ Physics of UE4 or 5 would attract more starting players- sure, but I say, they need to concentrat on giving Real players (i.e. the ones playing game now!) what they want at least to keep existing Playerbase, and of course continue to release Tested (unlike last Episode, hint- Hint!) and preferably day-1-BUGLESS content.
Right now- they are doing More than some of The old MMOs do..... but just about.
People will complain either way, sure- but if you remaster the Game- original players will complain, that the Hardware requirements were not anticipated for, they'd need to upgrade, if you change the Combat too much- they'll complain about it too, and so on......
I'm not saying "Don't make changes"- I'm saying make them just accordingly with existing players' advice.
Seasons greetings,
T
add me, if u need a hand -the combat system is working, it's just taking time to get a bit used to. ^_^
that's all
I'm doing something, basically, wrong and I'm trying to figure it out. I think it's something in the character builds and equipment combos. Lemme work on that a bit an' I'll come look ya up.
Seasons greetings and cheers,
T.
but what do this game really need is just slighty fresh engine for more advanced features in terms of combat and animations no graphics improvment needed
i repeat, just imagine 50+ players spamming buttons with their pets on 1 big boss in hub? it would be a mess, also all of these suits would receieve not needed additional polygons
but what they really need to add is PVP system and make ranked based matchmaking and attach actual great loot to it same with alerts but for pvp
The amount of money they'd have to spend remastering the games would require they mass hire to bolster the individual studios to handle that kind of workload, including (in DCUOs case) bumping the game onto a modern version of Unreal Engine. They opted to just keep milking it as it is, until it eventually sunsets and that's that. The Dimensional Ink studio in Austin would likely either shut down after DCUO ends service, or they get relegated to smaller scale mobile games, as it's less likely their owners would spend to swell the ranks at the studio to work on another large scale title. That's really not their MO. Their owners are more keen on buying studios with existing properties than actually developing any brand new games.
Would love for a DCUO 2 to be a thing, but just don't see it happening with EG7 (and their shady ties to dark money) still gripping the leash. There's always a chance for another studio to make a superhero MMO, however. Marvel Heroes would still be around if Gazillions sex predator CEO (who changed his name several times) wasn't found out by Marvel Games and DIsney and relations were severed.
Or Marvel Rivals gets PVE content. Not holding my breath on that, either.
This whole graphic / remaster topic about any older game really needs to stop. The game is what it is, you like it or you don't. The player base keeps growing and has been steadily healthy for quite a few years now.
That's because gamers like you get their hopes up. Setting your own standers WAY to high where not a single dev team can live up to, getting mad because you set yourself up for failire. Gaming used to be a hobby, something you did for fun now Sweats like you keep getting mad, trash talking games because YOU can't have fun anymore. Can't blame anyone but yourselves for this. Update isn't out yet and here you are complaining about how it's a fail already...
See, there you go again.
Why need more players when the players base is already healthy and thriving? More players would mean more success for the company, not you personally. Both servers have a big community, you can find runs and content 24/7 on both. Why are you deducting DCUO's success because it doesn't pull numbers like WoW and FFXIV while it's already having a healthy amount of players. Once again you're calling a perfectly healthy game a failure because it doesn't match your expectations...
