Is it possible to beat Bane?

I mean second major boss in Gotham (well, who knows, maybe he appears in later game). So, there are plenty of barrels and 4 pillars. Problem is, before attacking pillar, Bane regenerates about 20% of his health, and my damage is not sufficient to beat him until he breaks last pillar (after this i'm taking massive damage and just die in one hit).

I beat him with Gadgets, the thing is to make sure that you stay constant with your attacks and heal yourself.

If you're having trouble, go back out from the lighthouse and beat on the minions untill you level up a time or two. It made my second run through on Bane alot easier.

when i entered the room with bane in it i destroyed most of the green barrels before i got close enough to start the boss fight.doing this decreased the amount of times bane can heal.

I tried this as well, it came out as simply wasted time.
