How does exobytes affect a human? I mean, is the power it gives completely random, or does it get affected by other stuff at all? Why does it only effect some people, but not everyone? Does it also enhance or alter the already existing abilities(for example Batman is actually a normal human being, he could have got some powers)? Is this a worldwide thing, or just Metropolis and Gotham? Are there any information about this stuff?

Just going to take a shot at this as there's no other answers and they're interesting questions...

The only supplemental canon material for this game, as far as I'm aware, is the 26-issue comic series DC Universe Online Legends. Haven't read it but it seems to focus on the early part of the storyline and might have more details on the Exobytes.

Otherwise the official forums might be more helpful, as they're much more active and it's where the longtime players tend to be.
