Hey I Saw the recent update and got me hyped I'm somewhat a new player(usually I Played around for 1 week than remember that everything I Do will be worthless if I Don't buy episodes or constantly subbed to play episodes) now that all episodes are free and they also made lair system etc free, is it time to come back ?

my main timesink mmo was bdo but after a ton of unsuccessfull attempts, I Made the decision to take time off, now I'm looking for a new mmo to play and this game came to my mind, what do you guys think ?

You're now able to play all the episodes without paying - Those which have been released so far and those which will be released in the future. They also changed the CR system so it will be more likely to find players in the low lvl alerts. They also increased the money cap to 50,000 $ so you'll have enough money to repair your gear. It's definitely worth trying again.

I thought he got confused with pay to win and pay to play. Where's the pay to win in that game? Pvp? That's basically dead for years now. I guess people play this because of Pve so I gave my answer about that

Can you still spend cash to upgrade artifacts and such, yes its still in. But pay to win is a stretch as it's mostly going to effect pve. The game has given a few more options to get material so while at a slower pace you can upgrade artifacts, and the new companions using the standard currency source marks. Which is now rewarded for completing almost any basic task now in game.

Having access to lairs, and the utility belt massively improve performance for all players who didn't want to sub. Now being able to get things like orbital strikes, supply drops, etc. So if I was coming back and hadn't played anything to serious before its a perfect time. Queues are quicker due to omni bus grouping lots of content together in tiers. Just follow prompts and listen for queues and they go fine.

They haven't said what they will do with pvp so that system is still a mess, but with the massive changes they will likely do some major work on that, they want to cash in on the legends and such so they kind of have too.

But as I said before there are ways to get materials and such to reach elite content without spending a dime if you are willing to put extra time in. So it's pay to skip time not pay to win.

I am simply making a statement that what you were describing has nothing to do with pay to win. Which is what the OP was asking about. People typically refer to pay to win as a way to instantly get something that gives you an advantage over other players (not just in PvP). Episodes and expanded money cap wouldn't be in that category.

All the recent changes, that should of been done 10 years ago are a reaction to the realization the game is dying and these knee jerk changes are an attempt to milk the last dollars out of the gullible.

Doesn't really matter anymore tbh, the damage from the p2w model is done and it ran off a giant chunk of the player base over the years. It really started to go downhill after they removed the PvP maps moon and aussie. But too many people still feel salty about having to always keep a stack of interfaces to sell just so you can repair your gear.
But hey, atleast you don't have to buy raid passes anymore, right?.....

I have never felt that it was pay to win tbh, makes little difference if you are a supporter or not.

First there is no p2w here, most of the shop is cosmetic. Item upgrades and source marks are for sale but aren't something you can't get by putting time in, that means p2w doesn't exist. Maybe pay for convenience, there is nothing available in the store that will effect gameplay that you can not obtain in game. People act like there's an invulnerability item in that store, nope just bouncy balls and materials you can't get, no super duper power ring. Anyway unless it effects PVP it shouldn't matter, are you afraid you may end up in a raid with an OP donation player? I'd be happy to get that win. This is the best time to come back, the market is so flooded with marks you can level fast, the omnibus makes mission ques faster.

If you paid once or a few times for premium and you aren't now, you get unlimited currency cap and close to all the features you get now if you pay again.
From what i can see you don't get the premium reward track and 20 auction house slots.
I only get 5 auction slots and uncapped currency.
It's worth going back.

And yes , the gaming experience feel much better when subscribing to all access membership and it’s a good deal because it covers Everquest & DC universe online
