Many players on DCUO have been doing it for so long and i'm 100% sure they still do it until today, I don't recommend you to do it because not all websites are trustworthy and I do have a friend who lost a 100$ trying to buy cash. (Maybe if you find a legit site you're free to try your luck)

Will you get banned? Depends if you get caught or not, some get caught & reported so they end up getting banned and some (who still do it today) don't get caught and nobody knows anything about them and so they become rich & never get banned.

You just gotta be careful, and if we're being honest i don't blame those players for actually buying in-game cash for real $, i played the game for a very long time & spent hundreds of dollars on time capsules and guess what? I got NOTHING! these capsules are a huge scam IMO! so yeah i really don't blame those who buy in-game cash for real $.

It might be a method with a little more effort involved, but selling resets, seasonal items and Nth-Metal is the best way to get ban-free cash.
And stabilizers of course - almost nothing gives money as easy as that after a new item release.

My honest opinion: Only noobs and idiots buy illegally from shady third party websites...

My honest opinon: Make capsules & everything else more rewarding for everyone & maybe people will stop buying cash (Including everything, I don't think replay badges should be this pricey when you only get to sell a few resets out of them and same goes for the capsules which barely reward you) but when you got people literally getting ripped off and getting nothing in return, what do you expect is going to happen?
