1)Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version (Download latest Catalyst for your card)
2) Install latest Direct X from Microsoft site
3)Install latest Visual C++
3)If this doesn't work you'll have to provide more info about your system (OS,CPU,GPU,Mobo.RAM and the error code from the (mistake)
4) Open your computer and clean your components
5)Remove any viruses you got from several "activities" on your computer.
6)Go to tom's hardware site and ask there
Nothing on my pc changed spec-wise, does anyone have any idea what I could do to get this game working?
(No I do not have integrated graphics, my gfx card is my only source of gfx)
To clarify further, when the game did run the one time, it was right after a driver update for my gfx card (which I am still using, so nothing has changed) and the game was running beautifully on high settings.
So my card definitely supports DirectX 11, the game just doesn't recognize it...

Run the web installer, this fixed it for me.Also try installing the latest drivers from Nvidia.
I have the latest drivers from Nvidia for my card as well.
Honestly ask this question in one of these sites that are made for questions like this. Tom's hardware is one of them, people respond quickly because they get points. I have a gtx 770 and game runs supersmooth all maxed. One final thing you could do, but isn't guaranteed to fix anyhing is install this.

it's direct x sdk.
Also a guy had the same problem as you : https://steamcommunity.com/app/241930/discussions/0/613939294261648060/
When installing the drivers of your Nvidia card, check the perform clean installation checkbox, and if this doesn't work try driversweeper and then reinstall drivers.
I wonder!!!!
