In my opinion the best way to implement this new campaign would be the way they implemented the challenge mode (although that was a bull[HEARTS!!!] piece of DLC for other reasons...) which limited the game map but at least allowed you to use the build you created in the main story, and vice-versa. Granted i know little to nothing about game programming but I dont understand how they couldn't do something similar by making the 'Lord of the Hunt' DLC mode a standalone map that included the new beasts and beast-rider orcs and the new story missions, while allowing transfer of your saved runes and abilities. My only guesses are that they required a re-worked version of the engine to allow the beast-riders or they didn't want to make players complete the main story and max out their character before you could access the new content. But other games do this all the time, so why they felt they had to be more accessible is beyond me. The whole marketing strategies behind this game simply baffle me. BUT I GUESS THE JOKE'S ON ME BECAUSE I BOUGHT THE [HEARTS!!!!!!1!one] THING
