Game crashing at intro

Hi all, I just tried to play Shadow of Mordor for the first time. It loads the menu screen and options fine but when I click to start a new game and the intro starts, I get a few seconds of a woman speaking and then it'll sometimes stutter and stop or just black screen and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL for the Task Manager to close it after it tells me the program has stopped responding. I have the full hit edition with the season pass and run the latest stable driver releases for al my hardware, specs here:

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
12GB DDR 1600 Ram (Corsair & Kingston)
ASUS HD 7950 3GB Top v2
MSI 990FXA-GD65 Motherboard

My PC plays everything else fine and runs benchmarks and stress test programs faultlessly so I know it must be the game. Any ideas? Also I cannot verify my age for WBPlay, even though I am 35 it tells me I'm not old enough. Starting to lose heart with this game after waiting to play it.

You try reinstalling? Some people had this problem; prob something off with your download so a verify integrity cache or reinstall will probably handle it.

Try verify file cache, it will check if anything is missing or corrupted and redownload it.

Thanks guys, I verified the cache and played around a bit with it and it still crashed at the same point, then all of a sudden started working just as I was about to give up on it...very strange. Didn't fancy having to download all 30+ GB of it again but it started working on its own. Thanks for the help

I have the same problem except that it crashes much earlier, I get the Nvidia logo then the series of other logos, Shadow of Mordor logo, music starting but as soon as the pointer appears, it goes in not responding.
I'll try the cache but how do you verify it ?
I'm in a zone where the internet is veeeeeeeeery slow and gets interupted very frequently.

Hmmm, found the cache verification, passed ok but still same problem. Screen goes black and game not responding just after the "shadow of mordor" logo (before any menu)

Oh, this mornig I tried again and I got for a couple of seconds to a screen to adjust gamma correction. and just as the game crashed, I saw my display driver message "recovered an error", game error message "display driver removed", I have seen a few topics on that yesterday, maybe we should investigate that way Desecration

I am still crashing at the Gamma Setting screen. Did you ever figure this out?

Hey guys i have the same issue. When the game loads intro and i move the mouse cursor over any option on main menu the screen freeze and after couple of seconds the game crash. I found after couple of hours the answer. MSI afterburner memory overclock was messing arrond, then i back to default config, the game runs normal!
