It's a very popular and good selling game, I don't think devs would abandon it just like that. But fixing bugs isn't as easy as you may think.
since they done none if it, it is pretty clear they don't give 2 shts about the community.
to give you something to set it up against, reassembling just had a similar issue, all saves where lost, took less then 5 hours from when it was noticed till it was fixed, and that is made by some lonely indi dev..
if a trippel a title with houndreads of millions behind it can't do better then a lonely indi dev then it is because they can't care 2 shts about their community..
and when they havent fixed the issue after months of it being there, that shows they are so big that they dont care and ain't afraid of forced refunds(lawsuits if they refused), which is what you would see if a smaller company tried to pull such rtard moves off -.-
they basicly wasted houndread of thousinds of players time, and lost progress which belongs to the players by law, and havent done ANYTHING at all to remedy the situation..
ofcouse it didn't work, can't see how it would from a tech side either, but never be to high and mighty to try it, but yer didnt work :)
i doubt you lost 40h+ of game time with that attitude then ;)
I probably lost around 25 hours. It's the second time I've lost my save file. I really like Shadow Of Mordor so I'm not necessarily mad that I lost my progress. Besides, the only two games I REALLY like this year (last year I guess now) was S.O.M. and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.
If I were to lose my progress in Rebirth, that would be a different story.
there is no where in the coding they should be touching that should have any effect on your local or cloud save files... so for this to keep happening is just unacceptable....
i really did enjoy the game, completed everything there was to do, and just wanted to have run fighting around, i do not feel like redoing everything again.
especially becouse i find the story to be kinda "meeh" and the ending just terrible.. but that whole discussion have no bearing on the issue :)
I don't care for the story in these types of games. Assassin's Creed story I couldn't give a sh*t about. The only third-person action/beat-em-up game story I've really enjoyed was the Batman Arkham series.
Never heard of that solution, can you verify it? However, on point, it works for me, so yeah.
and for them to do it multiple times, lolz i never seen that before even from indi devs...
so nooo that is not something you will see many times at all ;)
since it is already backed up there is generally no reason to double backup the files.
been gaming hardcore for over 20 years and this is actually the first time i have seen a company screw up save files, backup save files and doing it multiple times....
seriously the amount of "f'd" you need to be to do that is extreme o.O i can't even understand how you can screw it up that much as a professional..
I am still not convinced it isn't something going on *because* of the cloud saves. This is not the first game that has had similar issues. I turned off Steam Cloud and never looked back, just in case. Have had no problems since.
