so save game issue will never get fixed?
so devs dont give a F about their community and will never fix the issue with people losing their save games ???

i feel bad for the people that did an amazing job on the game getting screwed by other within the staff not caring at all about the users and thereby f'ing over the rest of the team -.-

How do you know they don't give a f**k about the community? Maybe they are working on that issue but it may be difficult to fix it without breaking something else.
It's a very popular and good selling game, I don't think devs would abandon it just like that. But fixing bugs isn't as easy as you may think.

if they did this issue would have been fixed MONTHS! ago and they would have insured that save files either where restored on the first round (like every other game where this happens) and if that for some reason where impossible because they went full rtard when f'ing it up, they would insure to set a system where such a thing couldnt happen again (secondary backup stuff).

since they done none if it, it is pretty clear they don't give 2 shts about the community.

to give you something to set it up against, reassembling just had a similar issue, all saves where lost, took less then 5 hours from when it was noticed till it was fixed, and that is made by some lonely indi dev..
if a trippel a title with houndreads of millions behind it can't do better then a lonely indi dev then it is because they can't care 2 shts about their community..
and when they havent fixed the issue after months of it being there, that shows they are so big that they dont care and ain't afraid of forced refunds(lawsuits if they refused), which is what you would see if a smaller company tried to pull such rtard moves off -.-

they basicly wasted houndread of thousinds of players time, and lost progress which belongs to the players by law, and havent done ANYTHING at all to remedy the situation..

Unfortunately only some people have this problem. Try starting the game through save slots. Also, when in main menu wait from 4 to 6 seconds, it is speculated that if shutdown fast during the autosave process, data is lost.

I lost my save file yesterday. I'm willing to replay it again, just cause it's fun.

that sounds kinda like the "swing a dead cat over your head to prevent sickness" solution xD

ofcouse it didn't work, can't see how it would from a tech side either, but never be to high and mighty to try it, but yer didnt work :)

I probably lost around 25 hours. It's the second time I've lost my save file. I really like Shadow Of Mordor so I'm not necessarily mad that I lost my progress. Besides, the only two games I REALLY like this year (last year I guess now) was S.O.M. and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

If I were to lose my progress in Rebirth, that would be a different story.

no matter how much you like it, it is unacceptable that a dev fks up the coding so badly that it destroyes your save files several times -.-
there is no where in the coding they should be touching that should have any effect on your local or cloud save files... so for this to keep happening is just unacceptable....

i really did enjoy the game, completed everything there was to do, and just wanted to have run fighting around, i do not feel like redoing everything again.
especially becouse i find the story to be kinda "meeh" and the ending just terrible.. but that whole discussion have no bearing on the issue :)

I don't care for the story in these types of games. Assassin's Creed story I couldn't give a sh*t about. The only third-person action/beat-em-up game story I've really enjoyed was the Batman Arkham series.

I loved what I played when the game first came out. After about 8 hours I lost my save, submitted a report ticked as requested by the devs, and told myself I'll come back in the future if it gets fixed. I just came back now to look to see if the issue is still here and it seems it is. Is there a workaround available because I really want to play without losing my save.

Never heard of that solution, can you verify it? However, on point, it works for me, so yeah.

First of all not everyone whines and cries about losing save files. Every game has save loss issues. Some are caused by game, some are caused by steam, some by windows, and some by your own computer, those of us who have been gaming for decades already know that and take precautions (not steam cloud, but backing up data) to make sure we can get our saves back if it does happen.

the files are LOCAL and on the CLOUD, for them to fk up your local files AND the cloud files, they need to be a special type of "f'd" -.-
and for them to do it multiple times, lolz i never seen that before even from indi devs...

so nooo that is not something you will see many times at all ;)

since it is already backed up there is generally no reason to double backup the files.
been gaming hardcore for over 20 years and this is actually the first time i have seen a company screw up save files, backup save files and doing it multiple times....
seriously the amount of "f'd" you need to be to do that is extreme o.O i can't even understand how you can screw it up that much as a professional..

I am still not convinced it isn't something going on *because* of the cloud saves. This is not the first game that has had similar issues. I turned off Steam Cloud and never looked back, just in case. Have had no problems since.

I've gamed thousands of hours on steam, and off steam, have played this game for well over 150 hours, had my game crash right in middle of game due to hardware failure, and have NEVER lost a save file because of it. I never use steam cloud, and the only software that has complete control over your save files locally and on steam is steam when steam cloud is enabled. Steam cloud is only viable for game tranportability (you game on multiple computers) it's an unreliable save file backup.
